Don Hudson was the Assistant VP of the Commercial Loan Department at Citizen’s National Bank when by request he began photographing Weddings for close friends and family. After leaving the bank in 1980 he decided to turn his past time hobby into a professional photography business.
Hudson’s Photography opened its doors in Oct. of 1983 on Washington Ave. by
A jokester at heart, Don’s always got a new or old story to tell you. His favorite being, “if you let me charge an extra $500 I can go to the boat tonight!” Whether you need a new part for your train, you have photos you want to frame or you just want to chat, Don is your guy.
As a high school freshman, Keely signed up for the beginning photography class at BNL and fell in LOVE! When the time came to find her first job she thought, “What better place to apply than Hudson’s Photography.” Keely has been working at Hudson’s since February of 2014. She joined the team at the start of our class of 2015 indoor high school senior model sessions.
“When I first started I didn’t realize I was making the best decision of my life.” Although her official title is “Light Girl,” it should really be “Kevin’s Right Hand.” You can find Keely at every photography session attending to all Kevin’s needs and
Outside of her work at Hudson’s, Keely loves binge watching TV shows like “The Vampire Diaries” and “Once Upon A Time.” If you’re a Taco Bell lover, you’ll probably run into Keely there as well!
As for her future, Keely will probably never leave Hudson’s! After all, she was hired as summer help in 2014 and hasn’t left. “Having my dream job and working beside an incredible boss that has taught me so much. Not only about photography, but life values as well.”
It was love at first sight for Tonia when she first met Josh in sophomore year math class. She just knew he was “the one.” Tonia and Josh married in July of 2006 and added son, Isaac on Feb of 2007 and daughter, Abigail in June of 2011.
Isaac is a fun-loving, free spirit. He’s laid-back and casual like his dad and just so sweet with his little sister. He fills his free time playing with The Rifleman, guns, dinosaurs, fishing and exploring the woods with his dad.
Abigail definitely knows who’s boss, why her of course! With an opinion of her own, she keeps her mom on her toes and laughing the whole way through. Her free time is spent with Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, and Dora the Explorer.
After graduating high school early, Tonia Cummings joined Hudson’s Photography in May of 2006. She is the voice you hear on the other side of the line. Whether you need help with a question, want to schedule a photography session or are ready to place and order, Tonia will be there to help you along. She is the glue that holds us all together and the gear that keeps us moving.
Kevin Hudson started out taking every photography classes available in high school. He joined his father’s business, Hudson’s Photography in 1986. “I have been very lucky to make a living doing something I’m so passionate about for so many years. I am a pretty hyper and crazy guy and strive to try something different every time I walk into the camera room. I try to create a fun and spontaneous atmosphere when I shoot because it’s just as much about the experience as the final images.”
With his impeccable lighting skill and attention to detail when
Kaui Nichols graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2004 with a degree in Multimedia Arts and a minor in Computer Science. After graduating, she returned home to Hawaii where she got her dream job working at a high-end boutique photography studio on the North Shore of Oahu.
“I loved being included in every aspect of the business from the everyday office work, to custom designing our products. I learned the art of selling and participated in many fun, off-the-wall photography projects. It was the greatest hands-on learning experience.”
After joining Kevin and the Hudson’s team in 2011, Kaui put her years of training into action. Through the addition of new custom products and upgradable wall art options, Kaui brought a new face to the Hudson’s brand.
Though she has returned home to Hawaii, technology makes it possible for her to continue to create and design for Hudson’s wherever she is. Through a great network of friends and referrals, she has been fortunate enough to travel and build loyal clients and lasting friendships all over.
Kevin and Kaui met at After Dark Education, a national convention for photographers, Kevin was a mentor (educator), offering his expertise in studio and location lighting and posing. Kaui was coordinating the event. They met in Cincinnati in May and Kaui joined Kevin in his Indiana-based studio in November of 2011. Kevin and Kaui spent four years working side by side turning Hudson’s into the boutique studio it is today.
